Then we "thrifted" our way north- stopping into 3 different thrift stores to have a look around. Next to one of them was this West African grocery. The meat cases were somethin' ya don't see every day...

Whole hunks of I think partially preserved cow. It kinda stunk a little in there. ;-) (but I did buy some Bird's custard powder really cheap- think I'll be making a batch of Nanaimo Bars to give away for the holidays)

Eric pulled me over to the furniture section in one of the stores. There was this wonderfully detailed minature sized billiard table with balls. He thought it would make a fabulous cat toy. Can you imagine the cats with their own mini- pool table?!
It was $15, though... he says to me "If it was $5 you'd be carrying it outta here, wouldn't ya'?" ;-)

I managed to find a real bargain at one of the thrift stores- real 80's revival, but I think it might be 80's first time around ;-), but not overdone- just right if you know what I mean. It's a decent weight wool so I'll wear it as outerwear. Here's where the "find" part comes in...

The only way I'll be able to afford any Christian Dior clothing (except for my eyeglasses I got last year) is to find it for $4 at the thrift store- and even better- it fits well and I am usually a size 10 or 12. Nice one!
