Enough to make you good cheese making Euros cringe- "yellow" cheese- distinguished by color only. ;-) What they are refering to is that rubbery stuff known as "American" cheese.
To be fair, there is plenty of small batch creamery, really tasty cheese available this side of the pond, you just won't find it at local grocer Lucky's. ;-) (annotated)

;-) No special bins for us- on paper night it all just goes out on the curb- it can come bundled with twine, in paper bags or cardboard boxes. (So we occasionally will ask for a paper bag from the supermarket and/or use boxes for stuff we order online, etc.)
I have seen people use open rubbermaid type bins as well.

Bottles, plastics and cans usually go out in lighweight clear plastic recycling bags, although we use cans to hold them in the house (we just pull the filled bag out). Our county has alternating Friday pick up service for either paper, or bottles/plastic/cans and yardwaste (although we compost our yardwaste).
We compost fruit and vegetable scraps and regular trash pick up is once a week, on Wednesdays.
