then blended them with sauteed onion, cilantro, lime juice, one clove of garlic, a jalepeno, and a little bit of sugar to make tomatilla salsa verde.
Then quickly whipped up a couple of shrimp tacos for lunch and topped it with a little sour cream and some of that homemade salsa verde.
Went for a little walk- did me good to get a little fresh air I think. This tree was a few blocks away, pretty ain't it?
Dinner was cold! On purpose- home made gazpacho made from tomatoes and cucumber from our garden and a mixed green salad with roasted veg that I had roasted earlier. (annotated)
Then, for dessert, home made orangey dark chocolate chip cookies made with whole wheat flour. (These'll go into the cookie/biscuit tin and we'll be eating them all week).

I love tomatillos battered and fried. No, they're not potatoes, they're related to the tomato. They're green in this case and have a paper husk. They can be purple, red or yellow also, but most people know the green ones. That's what you make the salsa verde (see pick #2) with.
