Hawk in the 'Hood

This Red Shouldered Hawk has woken me up the last two mornings with his screeching.

He landed this morning on our fence and proceeded to serenade us.

Tom managed to sneak up through the side of the yard and get these pictures. This was the last picture he was able to get before the hawk flew off (he came back a few minutes later...still screeching). I love the disdainful look.

Tom took this picture in October...had to include it because it captures the hawk mid-screech.
