To The Ends Of The Earth Ministries--February Newsletter Photos

2008.02.18
Back in the Philippines! Jeff really enjoyed teaching the seven seminars he was able to do during his three week visit.

The best attended seminar was in Las Pinas. David (front right) is running the powerpoint as Jeff teaches.

Even the children were very attentive. There was lots of enthusiasm from the pastor and the whole congregation.

One of our seminars was back in our former home church of Sta. Rosa, Laguna. It was so nice to be back in this familiar pulpit sharing God's Word with our good friends there.

This church in Buendia is an outreach to the urban poor. Many of the young people are brand-new Christians.

This church in Muntinlupa has provided many opportunities for Jeff to teach over the years. At the front are Pastor John Hilapo and his wife, who have been a great encouragement to us.

Karen had a chance to visit the kids at Pooc with their new church building (behind them). There were many familiar faces as well as many new ones.

Inside the building, a big poster at the front is decorated with the faces of all the kids, as well as of Karen, Tammie, and Wowie, who used to assist Karen there.

It was so nice to see our boys (David and John) enjoy themselves in a country where they had spent so many years.

On our days off we went on a couple of short trips with members of our former church in Sta. Rosa. This one was to Tagaytay, up on the mountain beside which we used to live.

On another day off, we went further to the south, well out of the cities, where everything is lush and green.

They took us to a picturesque little resort in the mountains, riding on Kuya Gudlow's faithful jeep, with which we have had many adventures in the past.

The mountain stream water was just a little too cool for us, though some of the others went swimming. But what a refreshing spot!

Pastor Arnel is the coordinator for Jeff's seminars in the Philippines. Here he is with his wife and one of his eight children.

Just before Karen and the boys left, the church in Sta. Rosa had a "despedida" (departure) party for us.

The party was held in the courtyard of the apartment they had fixed up for us to stay in.

It was so nice to see all these dear friends again, some of whom we have known for 23 years.

Just before we left for the Philippines, Jeff and the boys went with Jeff's translator from school (Joshua) to visit a Holocaust museum in Tainan. This is the only Holocaust museum in Taiwan.

They are having an effective ministry teaching about the Jewish roots of our faith to Taiwanese Christians. The current pastor (standing to my left) did a course of study at Yad V'Shem in Jerusalem, and is teaching some of the same things we teach in our Jesus of Nazareth seminar.
