上海 - Malls: In and Out

2008.04.16
Mini stools at the grounds of what we simply call "Decathlon" (it being the name of the biggest and most frequented store in that shopping complex).

A section of the Outlet mall, at night.

My excitement in tasting this seemingly ordinary mango shake cooled down as soon as I made the first sip---it wasn't cold, and they didn't put in any ice...

Shoe Fair inside the Shanghai Times Square

The Grand Gateway Mall (I snuck out while my cousin was busy inside).

Lamp at Ikea.

A mug of hot tea on our 2nd visit to Ajisen, where our order of miso soup didn't come out till we were almost done eating...

A serving of some delicious cake for breakfast, on our way to the Shanghai Zoo.

Y U _ _ Y dead ducks.

Thought we'd try out this dumpling being sold in one of the many stores inside Shanghai Old Town. Turns out the contents was nothing more than a small serving of hot (my cousin got a bonus scalding of the mouth by excitedly sipping it) seafood soup.

Some idol statue in one of the alleys at the Dragon Gate Mall.

In the 3 weeks that we stayed in Shanghai the weather has been mostly overcast skies, if not rainy. Sunny days with blue skies were few and far in between.

To make the most out of such conditions, my cousin and I would check out the malls, killing two birds with one stone: I still get a chance on some possible photo ops; and my cousin, who is a mallrat, gets to satiate her shopping urges.
