The Untitled picture poject series started in Jan. 20, 2009..Obama's inaguration..I was given a one day assignment THIS DAY OF CHANGE, by Kodansha of Japan, 100 photographers all over the world to make pictures on that day..pictures of HOPE. I decided to go to Tondo, in the charcoal site. To depict images of hope.. assignment done! But even after that day, I ve come again and again...to have converstaions with the people there..to photograph, to just stay on and on..to keep coming back...I dont really know where this picture project goes, and where it will lead me, someday..or as one who wrote me, why are you doing this project? Wherever these pictures/or project will lead me, i say to myself, it will reveal itself, maybe not now..perhaps later..As i am still continuing the project, shooting, conversing with the people, editing, and editing, then again, going back, recording what is infront of me.. like any of my picture projects, or trips, i do not have any expectations...just an openness of mind, of the heart, to take in, to see, to be a witness..i can form opinions later on as i begin to re examine the works. in workshops i have done, i am always asked: what the secret to documentary making is..i say, nothing...just...feel the place, the character, small things matter, openness of mind, heart, take note of details, of light, of shadows, of conversations, the five senses. and no judgements about what is going to come out and be revealed...more thoughts later as more pictures i will them up here. thanks for visiting:)

nice project! how old are these children? I like to interview children about their expectations and dreams about the future and I do it many times :)
