Men playing chess. The Queen's Pier was a social place for some regular retired men and women. The people in the photo may have seen the birth of this pier and now they have seen the demolition of this historic site.

This place no longer exist on the map of Hong Kong. The building blocks are current in storage and no one knows when and where it will be reassembled. This historcial pier was built in the 1950s and named after Queen Victoria. Despite fierce protests and hunger strikes from the general public, the pier was pull apart to give way to new ugly highways and fly-overs... What a shame.
