Culinary discovery - Kushi-Katsu

2008.10.25
The starter with cabbage and crudite in a bamboo cup

An deep-fried oyster bamboo skewer. Here you see the four sauces to be used for different food items. From left to right: "special salt" with seaweed powder, worcestershire sauce, sesame sauce, soy sauce with orange bitters. It was absolutely delicious and a sore throat after the meal was worth it. Each piece was a surprise to the palate... it was bliss...

More surprises to our plates, a gimormous katsu asparagus and a piece of chicken katsu wrapped with perilla

Here's the grand menu of all the 36 items. The way to eat is in the order from 1, 2, 3 and so on. I didn't not get pass the scallop at number 21. It was a wonderful meal and surprising enough, there was no chopsticks, forks or spoons involved! Oh and I have to mention that the ice-cream was... oh... so good!

BTW, my favorites are... 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 14, 17, 20, and 21.

To anyone interested in trying, here's the restaurant Mogami. I was the one in Akasaka.
