More from the archives... My grandmother about a year before she passed away. That's my grandparents dog, Punky, who is also gone. She did not like the sound of my camera and only "let" me take her picture because my grandmother told her to stay. These were also taken with Scala slide film.
So, I am the Lucky Girl in the Title of this post. The other day, I mentioned that my grandfather gave me the money to buy my D200, right? Well for Christmas, my sister gave me a book on how to become a freelance photographer. Cool, huh? My mom is also a big supporter of my photography and I had a photo job earlier this year because of her.
But without my grandmother, I probably would not be taking photographs at all. When I was seventeen, she bought a Canon AE1-P because she wanted good photos of the family. She assigned me to learn the camera and then to take the pictures. And somehow that camera became mine. It was the first camera where I had to learn about shutter speed and F stops and exposure and it started my love affair with photography. I wish she were here to see my photos now. I miss her.
