There are 21 missions in all. When I did a recount, I realized I've seen 7 of them so I'm a 1/3 of the way there. One year I was at Mission San Luis Rey on New Years and I got to ring the mission bell. That was very cool.

so beautiful! Have you been to La Purisima yet? That's my favorite - it is fully restored including the aquaduct and farm/gardens
