These photos are from last summer and they were my first try at sports photography. This is the Danskin's Womens Triathlon in Los Angeles. The Danskin was the first tri I ever did (in 2005) but last year, lingering injuries (from a run in with a car on my bike and then a separate bike accident) kept me from competing. So I took my camera instead. As you can see, women of all shapes and sizes and ages participate and it is a blast. If you've never done a tri, I suggest you try one. :)

Anyway, a friend reminded me that sign ups are here for this year's Danskin in June. The hard part is do I compete or do I photograph it? I haven't figured out how to do both...

The last photo is of Sally Edwards. She's one of the pioneer women triathletes and ironwomen. It's a tradition for her to greet the competitors at the finish line and she's really enthusiastic about it!
