Horsepower

On Saturday afternoon, I went to the local outdoor mall. It has a lot of high end-ish stores, really great restaurants, a cultural center, and lots of people watching. The top two shots are of the valet parking which is right on the street. I got a kick out of watching people walk buy and drool over the cars there. California dreaming at it's best (or worst).

Less than 100 feet from these cars, you can rent a horse and buggy to take you around the mall and see the sights. I think the "driver" was getting lessons on how to handle the carriage. She looked pretty nervous. Or maybe it was just not wanting to scratch those cars! Anyway, I thought it was ironic that they were so close together. The question is...are we better off with cars or would we be having more fun with a horse and buggy? Of course, I ride my bike everywhere so you know my answer! :)
