Down To The Wire

2007.03.24

The grove sits beside some abandoned railroad tracks. They are being turned into a bike trail that will go for about 20 miles or so. I'm looking forward to it, but I'm also a little worried. Right now there's a sort of wildness about it. Things wander in and make it a home, like that little palm in the Palm Trio the other day and lots of other scrubs and wildflowers. And of course, all the birds. In some places, I see rabbits and squirrels. I've even run into a coyote or two while running as the sun rises. I just wonder if once the bike path is in it will be more sterile and planned. They are already working on a section a mile from my house so it will be nearing my patch soon enough. But change is good right? The cyclist in me is even loking forward to it and the hope that more people will use it.

Anyway, you can still find elements of the railroad here and there - the rails, the tracks. These wires rusting in the sun. But it won't be much longer. It's getting down to the wire.

P.S. I used the orton effect on #2.

t2d4th Down to the wire. I used to think that people that resisted change were just closed minded. As I have aged I realize that change is often painful. I hope for you that this is an awesome changed. That it brings lots of new adventures and wonderful pictures. :-)

vollenda Someone once told me that change was inevitable but if you chose to make changes in your life before you get to "set in your ways", it would make it easier because you were the catalyst.

I'm sure it will be good. It will actually give me a direct route, as the crow flies, to my best friend's house. And I can see many photo ops with families using it in the summer. :)
