Mug Shots

Ok, I haven't decided whether or not I like the other photos I took of the lilies. While I decide, I'm posting some Spike photos.

So...Spike is an indoor cat. He, however, thinks otherwise and his one & only ambition is to escape. If he does, I can usually lure him back with food. But sometimes, he goes off exploring.

A few years ago, the stripey rotter got out and went walk-about. Every day I looked for him and checked the local shelter's website. Nothing. Finally, on the 5th day, I went down to check the shelter anyway. One of the workers took me back into the cat area but no Spike. :( And then one of the other volunteers says "Did you check the bad cat room?"

BAD. CAT. ROOM. Hope!

She took me to the "jail" and opened the door and the first thing I see is Spike, sitting dejectedly in his cell. Woo! When he saw me, he started meowing and rubbing his head against my hand. The girl asked me if he was mine (hello!) but before I admitted it, I asked her what he had done that he had to be in the BAD CAT room. She laughed and said that he just kept getting all the other cats riled up and they put him in the BAD CAT room alone so they could have some peace and quiet. Breathing a sigh of relief, I admitted he was mine and $50 later, we were on our way back home.

They have a mug shot of him so that if he returns, they'll know who he belongs to. Or it could be so they'll know he's trouble! :)
