Plant A Seed

I took these with my Coolpix when I got to work this morning. These sunflowers are in a small garden behind our work that belongs to a church. Our department is on the 2nd story and looks out over their property. A few months ago, we watched as the youth group planted their garden. We were curious about what they planted. As you can see, some of their seedlings were these sunflowers that are now towering over the wall seperating the properties and they make us smile to see them. I bet they had no idea their little garden would cause so much speculation and so many smiles. See, you never know who you are going to touch just by going about your daily life. :)

I had planned on posting another shot from Saturday but after seeing this news story on ABC tonight, I thought I would post these instead. The story is about a photojournalist who gave cameras to children in a homeless shelter and asked them to photograph their dreams. They did a great job of capturing the essence of their dream. It's always eye opening to see the world thru the eyes of a child. Check them out if you get a chance.

Let's hope the seed planted for their dreams with this project grows strong and tall. :)
