Pinwheels

2007.07.28

These are from my grandpa's yard and they were taken with my Coolpix. I don't know what it is about these, but I've always liked them. Maybe it's because they remind me of pinwheels.

When I was going thru the photos on my laptop, I "found" them. I forgot I had taken them. :) I've been cleaning up the files on my laptop this week because it was starting to get a little slow. Could have been the 4000+ photos I had on it! I bought an external drive a while back and I've been backing up my files onto it (9,100 photos so far). Just in case. Since I have all files on the external drive, I periodically go thru them and only keep my favorites on the laptop. This time I went thru every photo...twice. I only got rid of 1000 photos. It's too hard to choose! By not keeping them on the laptop, it feels like I'm rejecting them. ;)

3rdRockTrotter The petals look so crisp in your bold b/w's.
"A thing of beauty is a joy forever" - Fortunately, we can save them in digital format. As your photographs are of highl quality, is it worth putting them up for sale at some websites that also store them for you?

deleted090307 These are so beautiful...

I know what you mean about your laptop slowing down, mine is the same and I always promise myself to keep on top of not storing too much, but it's difficult.

jet28 I've been doing that too - it's hard :-) Lovely shot!

elkegrocholl In b/w hydrangea look quite fragile. Great !!!
I have five different sorts and colours in my garden. The shrub reminds me of old farm gardens.
BTW, it seems to be the day of external drives ! :-)
I have also bought myself an ED.

OC110481 I need to clear my laptop too.

Very gorgeous shots!, even in black and white I still can see the pretty of it as colors.

rolpa Good flowers for grandparents somehow. (And for others no doubt.) Nice in b&w and also in colour I suspect.
rolpa · 2007-07-28: 07:41
chipotle we have a mess of them in our backyard. they always make me think of my grandmother. (i just wish i could find fried chicken somewhere that reminded me of her.)

makaid · 2007-07-28: 11:10
vollenda Thanks! Hydrangea! For the life of me, I couldn't remember the name last night. :) Thanks. They seem like a sturdy plant.

nadoune Nice shots !
nadoune · 2007-07-28: 13:14
harryOB I know the feeling - way more photos than hard drive space or time to look at them! LOL These are wonderful and I like your choice to view them in B+W.

LisetteT C'est vraiment joli en noir et blanc.
Nice pics.
LisetteT · 2007-07-28: 20:07
jendayee Beautiful b&w !!!
I feel the same way, plus I'm so afraid of loosing any picture that I save them on 3 external drives, plus CDs and DVDs.... :))) crazy !!! I'm thinking of buying another drive to leave it in Paris so i'm sure to have all my pictures in Martinique and France :))) crazy !! and just like you I try to keep the best on the laptop... sometimes, the best is those who speaks to us... even if they're out of focus ;)
jendayee · 2007-07-28: 21:57
jwideman Great photos! They do look like pinwheels. Cleaning out the picture folder is a task I keep avoiding. Congrats on accomplishing that! 1000 photos is a pretty good number to get rid of. Way to go!
jwideman · 2007-07-28: 23:55
t2d4th I love this too. Definitely one to keep on your laptop. :-)
t2d4th · 2007-07-29: 22:43
Jannie Fabulous B&W hydrangeas! Awesome! I know what you mean about moving & deleting photos. Makes me twitch just to think about it!

ACH365 Isn't it funny how attached we become to our photos?! I'm that way too. I absolutely stress about deleting too much.
ACH365 · 2007-07-31: 09:36
ACH365 I hit enter a little too quickly... I meant to add that I'm getting better with that delete button now that I'm taking a picture every day. Whew. Photoblog is helping me with my issues. Who knew that would be a benefit to this whole process?!
ACH365 · 2007-07-31: 09:37
davidcardona A well balanced -contrast and shades- picture! A wonderful B&W work!
davidcardona · 2007-07-31: 10:29

vollenda · 2007-07-31: 13:56
