Bleached

2007.08.12

I put these thru the washer with a little bleach and the colors ran. Well, not quite. #1 was converted to b&w using an infrared filter. And #2 & #3 were converted with a green filter.

Karibbean Number 2 is my favorite

3rdRockTrotter After several viewing, i still find #2 my fav.. it is easier on my eyes, where as #1 has too many details to pick up. I wonder if there're any studies that concluded our eyes are more sensitive or insensitive to b/w.

Estel Number 3 is my favourite.

mattdross I really like the look of 2. Very delicate and simple.
mattdross · 2007-08-12: 16:35
photopoet I'm fascinated by the effects of b&w on how we view a scene. The first photo requires more attention to discern the foreground and background—but I like the way my eye moves from black to white and back again to a darker shade.
The second photo is lovely, but not as arresting as the first. very creative set.

vollenda Thanks all!

Yep, thats why I shot these. They made me think of wallpaper.
vollenda · 2007-08-12: 17:49
noptek With these effects, the pictures become almost abstract. Nice work

kangshung When I look at your blog I always have admiration for your sense of creativity as well as for your photographic skills. The patterns evoke much more than "wallpaper" - I see them as being almost abstract but very three-dimensional. #2 is sensational especially in its tonal range, but, I agree with photopoet's comments, and #1 is perhaps more interesting because of the structural elements. Great set!
kangshung · 2007-08-12: 19:31
josephinep gorgeous tones.

emmetan i think no 2 is quite nice

chipotle the middle one is my favorite.

the last one reminds me of a pair of canvas hightops i once owned. at first glance, the material seemd to be just an abstract in shades of gray. closer inspection revealed otherwise. they were some of my favorite shoes.
chipotle · 2007-08-13: 07:05
jonrake its funt o experiment in B&W
