Time Capsule

2007.08.18
It's got some scratches, but no dents.

If film still came in these cannisters, I might not have gone digital.

I like the ridges on the cap.

-Kodak-

Actual colors - fire engine red and lifeguard yellow.

This little time capsule is an old Kodak film cannister. I bought it off ebay about 10 years ago. I think it cost more for shipping than for the cannister itself. I keep meaning to look for more because they came in other colors too, blue caps, silver, I think green. I keep tiny rocks in it. From places I have been to take photos.

As with my antique cameras, I often wonder who bought this film? What did they take photos of? What kind of camera did they use? Where were they when they used it?

Maybe it was used for a roll that produced a Pulitzer Prize winning photo?

Or maybe it was used to shoot the first day of school for a little girl with long dark hair dressed in a twirly skirt that her grandmother made her? :)

Or maybe it was used on a family vacation to the Hawaii?

It's possible it was used to photograph someone's first car? Say a 67 bug?

And there's always the chance it was used to catch candids of their family, paparazzi style?

Ooh, it could have been used to capture a stripey cat with a lot of attitude. :)

Whatever it was used for...hopefully, it was used to photograph something or someone that was loved.
