I think the ones on black look more dynamic (but that could have been the leaves as well). These are still lovely studies. My favourite is #1.

I don't know about the white - but I really like these shots. They are more static than the black, but the overexposing does good things - I guess you don't need such saturated colours against the white. Also like the faint shadows - #3 is magnificent!

Some days the black seems more dramatic and other days I like the bone white. So perhaps it's the subject that dictates the background. How do you get the white to stay so clean and white?—my white often yellows.

Thanks everyone! :) Because I take these outside on my balcony and the walls and the balcony itself are blue, I usually have to worry about a blue cast more than anything. But I clean up the whites (and blacks) in photoshop elements. With whites, I use remove color cast. And I usually burn in the blacks to make them darker. On the backgrounds that is.

I like the white background. #1 has the best color, but they all look good. And I'm a little jealous. I've got a D70s, but one of these years i would love to have the D200. If only I didn't have to eat regularly. lol
