TLD - One Year Anniversary

This is Mutombo, the baby giraffe at the Living Desert. Well, he's not so much a baby anymore. He's just over a year now. I posted photos of him on my blog last year when he was just 2 months old.

I thought that photos of him would be a good way to celebrate my 1 Year Anniversary on photoblog. He's a year older, I'm a year older. He's grown. The question is...have I grown as a photographer?

I remember being so nervous when I joined. Would anyone like my photos? Would they be ripped apart? Would they touch anyone?

I've learned since then that photoblog is a nurturing place and I had nothing to be worried about. But it's also taught me that not everyone is going to like what I put up everyday. People have different tastes and though it can be disappointing that someone doesn't like it, it's just the way art is.

I have to say...I have a muse who I think has helped me grow. No, not Spike. :P This person has challenged me, made me frustrated, made me cry, pushed me, and given me great feedback. Kind of like a teacher/mentor who inspires you to work harder. If you read this, thank you. :)
