TSC - WWF Friends

This weeks Spike Chronicles feature some of Spike's WWF friends. I bet you thought it was going to be wrestling dudes, didn't ya? :P

Just so you know, Spike and I do know how lucky we are that we have a good life, food to eat, a roof over our heads, and live in a safe place. Uh, not to mention the cool photography toys we have to play with. Well, okay, that's just me. But he gets toys too! And comfort things like his bed (which he is now in love with). :)

So this year, we decided to use some of the money we received for xmas to adopt some animals from the World Wildlife Fund. We decided to adopt animals from North America.

Guess what the 3M&Ms are getting for Valentine's!

The Gray Wolf - Did You Know?
"Gray wolves are part of the dog or Canidae family, a group characterized by their intelligence and adaptability. Wolves, like other members of the dog family, are very territorial, laying claim to familiar den sites, travel routes, and feeding grounds. After years of protective captivity in zoos, the endangered Mexican gray wolf--the rarest, southernmost and most genetically distinct sub-species of the gray wolf in North America--is gradually being returned to its natural Southwestern desert habitat. "

Black-Footed Ferrets - Did You Know?
"Found only in the Great Plains, the Black-footed ferret is a solitary and nocturnal animal. This cousin of the weasel lives in burrows which provide housing, shelter, and protection from predators. The Black-footed ferret remains one of North America's most endangered mammals despite restoration efforts: its principal prey, the prairie dog, has been reduced to less than 2 percent of its original abundance."
