This is one of my favorites.

I'm always surprised when someone looks right at me while they are racing.

These were some of the best fans on the course. They were very enthusiastic. :)

By the way, I have about 800 photos from Saturday and Sunday's races. I'll be putting up a few more race sets. ;)

This weekend was the 9th Annual San Dimas Stage Races.

As some of you may know, I love bikes (I have four - two road bikes, a hybrid, and a mtb). And there's nothing I love more than the sound of wheels in a paceline. So needless to say, I love races. :) I've only raced my bike in triathlons though.

This is the first time I was able to make it to the road race portion. And what a blast of color and sounds and speeds it was. The course was a loop that each category raced many times. These photos are of the Cat3s, Cat2s, and Pros at the King of the Mountain line and then the descent after. It made for some great opportunities as they raced to the line and then raced down the hill.

As an added bonus, I knew someone racing! I've never met him but I've read his blog. If you ever get a chance to attend a bike race, I highly recommend it.

P.S. Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers for my great uncle. He is at home now with Hospice care since he does not want any more chemo or other measures. If you could say another prayer for him, I would appreciate it.

These are phenomenal. I felt as if I was there—rooting them all on. Beautiful colours and the clarity is amazing. I look forward to seeing more. My favorite is the second photo. I'll say a prayer for your uncle and your family.

these are awesome! i love the up close ones with the explosion of colors in their biking outfits and helmets. #6, #7, and #16 are my faves. that must have been fun to watch. i watched the chicago marathon this year, a little different, but still SO much fun! i will definitely do it again this year and take photos to share :-)

I LOVE this set.
Absolutely so well done, a huge congratulations to you for shooting such fast-paced sports action :)
My boyfriend is bike-obsessed as well, so I have particular appreciation of what these competitors are putting themselves through. I'm hoping to get my road bike in the next 6 months :)
Personally, it's so hard to pick a favourite - so much movement, light and colour - but I love the racey feel of #18 - the composition is spot on, great movement captured without blur and just the feel to it is awesome.
