Jerseys on parade. Or the train as I like to call it. :)
pixel
I was trying to capture details with these two shots. But you can see their footwear in them.
pixel
Really, I was just trying to practice panning. You believe me, right?
pixel
One of my favorite shots as they were lining up to start the crit. I love his smile.
pixel
I loved the confidence in this one. These jerseys let everyone know who the KOM, Sprint, and Race leaders are.
pixel
Wonder what kind of "fish" tales he's telling?
pixel
Getting their game face on as they wait to start.
pixel
Showing their school colors. This one is for my sister who is a Bruin.
pixel
Only a little nervous. I'm told I look scared witless before a race. :P
pixel
Girl power! They also had kid races on Sunday which were a blast to watch but really hard to photograph because of all the parents yelling strategy!
pixel
Future star!
pixel
Check out his Bert & Ernie helmet. :)
pixel
Flowers add speed! :)
pixel
I bet we see him in a yellow jersey some day. :) He even has a bottle cage for those long rides!
pixel
What the pro photographer wears to a bike race.

Well, okay. It's time for another confession. I like bike boys. Some people think they look funny with the shorts and the helmets. But, I, um...appreciate the look. ;) And like Patty mentioned yesterday, there's the whole leg thing. ;)

Anywho, the "look" IS an important part of the cycling world. The jerseys, helmets, gloves, etc. all help define a rider or a team. They help you "find" your cyclist in the pack. Help you stand out from the crowd or give you a cohesiveness with your mates. And like the kids show, your gear can help showcase your personality. There are some awesome jerseys out there if you're a rebel like me and don't wear a team jersey. And a Bert & Ernie helmet doesn't hurt either!

By the way, did you know that by riding a bike you could help raise money for a cause? My first century was with Team in Training about 10 years ago and I helped raise money for the Leukemia Society of America. It was great fun and an experience that I still remember to this day.

My friend, Libor, is doing the Ride2Survive and riding 400km in ONE day to help raise money for the Canadian Cancer Society. You can see his blog here. They are trying to raise $150,000 to help fight cancer.

And don't forget to visit bolder's write2fight.com website which is helping raise awareness in the fight against cancer.

turndaround great, great series. The boys are great, but the kids are my favorite. I think I'mm gonna have to go look for a bert and ernie helmet!!! =)

focussed Im not sure what it is about those jersey's that make the cyclists heads look so big..I noticed it on your 4th shot here and also some shots from the last two days...hehe.. I agree with patty about the fact some of those boys are just lovely to look at...and it would seem as though a few of them were posing just for you ;)..and those kids!!.....how adorable is that?!?!?!?!..another fab set ;)

SheriJ WOOO-HOOO for the Bert and Ernie helmet!! I would be searching for a Tigger helmet!! Very cool shots... Love the smile too! I really like the fact that you didn't capture the serious side of racing only!! great job!! Now that pro photographer Now that is a lens and a half!! WOW I only wear one knee pad but a spare wouldn't hurt!! great job Lisa!!!
SheriJ · 2008-04-02: 09:35
lexlevans hehe - lisa, i've been very appreciative of all these biker photos for more than good photographs also :-) love athletic men (but not too bulked up!). and then i got to the kid photos and just about died. they are SO cute. i would have gone crazy to see them racing - adorable! #10 and #13 and definitely #12 with the bert and ernie helmet. and wow, i wish i had a camera like that guy!!

awesome emotions you captured - the thrill of racing, the anticipation and maybe a little nervousness before the race, the joy of racing with those gorgeous smiles... great set :-)
lexlevans · 2008-04-02: 11:30

????? According to my own monitoring, billions of people on our planet get the lowest-rate-loans.com from various banks. Thus, there is good chances to receive a college loan in all countries.
