I totally get that from this image. She looks like a sad clown and its a beautiful image. You have a real way of captureing the ood through portraits. Dont feel bad about your actions, thoughts or feelings. There must have been a reason why you did what you did and I applaud you for thinking about yourself. Women are too often door mats who put everyone else first. Of course there are times when we should all be more giving of ourselves and less self absorbed...but not if it means we are being taken advantage of.

I have alot to say .. first of all I think it is so expressive and artistic how you expressed this .. second of all I think there are 2 things to look at here...since I don't know the relationship you speak of.. like with my children I have had to do this alot.. but there comes a time to take care of yourself .... writing you more in message... lovely and honest post :)

Well... We all do it sometimes. Unfortunately it is at times necessary. It shows how kind a person you are by admitting you feel this way though. You couldn't be a mean person inside.

Very colorful.. I think I find myself relating to the song by Smokey Robinson Tears of a Clown. We all do it and once in awhile we need to be first if it has to be.

Life puts us in many awkward situations, some of which make us choose, rightly or wrongly, to put ourselves and our own interests first. That you feel the way you do says more of your character than the decision you made, Lisa: a lesser person wouldn't think twice and certainly wouldn't remonstrate themselves for it. Coming off the back of my own self-portrait experiment, this shot and your words are so evocative - there is that part of each of us that eludes even ourselves. Painted or no, your conscious is the one thing that can never lie to you. Wonderful post. I do hope you are feeling better about what happened. xo

Wow. Such honesty. That is an admirable quality about you. Don't be so hard on yourself for being human. We all do things we aren't proud of. Think of the reasons you did it.... I would bet that somewhere, deep inside, you could find a reason why you made that choice that is a good reason. Thank you for making me think and kudos on such a moving photo.

great post..it is said that a decision is the best when it's taken..later may come regrets..but it's necesary to not forget that at that moment it was the best or at least the right decision..and all in all..being human means to make mistakes..and to learn from the past..
