Confession of a Klutz: I'm addicted to Dancing With The Stars. So is another certain photoblogger (who shall remain nameless). Er, addicted to DWTS, not the klutz part. ;) Here's a hint. Sending you good thoughts! :)

For my birthday, I’m treating myself to a night in LA to see Behind the Emerald Curtain and do some photo exploring. Behind the Emerald Curtain is a behind the scenes tour of the show Wicked where you get to see the props and the costumes up close as well as what it is like back stage.

Um, you may have noticed that I post photos of feet now and then.
Spike's Jig
Ruby Slippers
A Certain Step

It’s not so much the feet as what they are doing (hopefully dancing) or the shoes they are wearing. I actually have an idea for a foot/shoe photo project that I want to do. When I saw Wicked and I saw the boots the characters were wearing, I was wishing for my camera SO badly. I asked if I can take my camera on the tour and they said "yes, they are encouraged" (woo!) so I’m hoping to capture some of that. It won’t be the same without actual feet in them but it should be cool. I can't wait. :)

noptek Great post. I've seen this kind of dance during Highland games in Scotland. It was beautiful.

kangshung These are wonderful shots Lisa - they express so much about the dance. It's amazing how much of the dance is spent on her toes!

Peche This looks like the feet of a female Scottish highland dancer... is that right?
I love it - I have an obsession with photographing feet and paws too, that my boyfriend will attest to (he laughs whenever I do it!) - there's just something about different movements, and the expression that can be derived from it too... I have often thought of shooting feet as a series so I am glad I'm not alone in it - a lot can be said about a person from their shoes.
Wonderfully creative Lisa... and how exciting for the behind the scenes tour! Planning on taking shots?

focussed After seeing just the feet in this set I cant image that photographing it any other way would have made sense. Perfect choice.
Ok so you've managed to exude such enthusiasm about Behind the Emerald Curtain that now IM excited!!..lol......Cant wait to see the shots you snap up which will no doubt be as fabulous as everything else you set the camera too.

pattyb What a fantastic opportunity Lisa!! I am emerald green with envy ; ))

I believe confession is good for the soul, actually I'm more of a dork than a klutz!! DWTS rocks!! We probably bog down the PB message system every Monday and Tuesday before and after the show.

Thanks for the positive thoughts ; ))

photopoet I could almost see them moving about—your photos give the sense of movement. Can't wait to see the next series of "shoes".

Jannie I love the foot shots! Funny how we find things that just draw our cameras out! Some of my favorite subjects are some I would never have predicted (cows, kids). And I can't even call the nameless photoblogger when DWTS is on, it will go right to VM!!
