W9 Carving: Apple
When I arrived to the class my classmates was dealing with graving plaster coins. We had to use a special tool which was made by our Sculpting teacher. The first step was understanding the task, I saw the processes of graving in plaster coins negative, these actually were made on glass by the teacher. So, I chose a round one, and thinking about what should I grave on this small coin. Then, I decided to make an apple, before this class, I also drawn apples with pastel chalk. I will also put a picture of it, because it was my favourite drawing at the school. I think this graving method was not as difficult as the previous one, because we had to grave softly to avoid the harsh stripes on the surface. I was trying to make an 3-dimensional work, because it will look better on the positive part. Here is my finished work, on the left of the picture is the negative plaster, and on the right is the positive made by clay. And under that is my drawing of Apples.
