One of the reasons why I chose never to live in the country of my birth - Switzerland - is the proximity of the horizons. You can't breathe when there are mountains all around you - and most of us don't live on mountains - just near them. Thanks for this post.

You are right... and Revenant, too. I experienced Provence with its gorgeous light and sky that I love so much for 6 months: no mountains, but hills there... After spending only one week in Alps I felt "suffocated" from close high mountains (and cold and snow) and I broke down :-( I decided to be back to a sweet diversified landscape (Tuscany) and warm temperature... Your blue bird view is very charming! I like it.
