I think it is the fact that the gloves are so very big and she is such a tender age makes her look more vulnerable than threatening - I find it a rather disturbing image - a beautiful young girl taking refuge behind potential violence only succeeds in looking more apprehensive than threatening -it is as if she is saying 'but you won't hit back, will you?'
