THE TRANSPORTERS

2008.04.13
Have you ever seen such thing? That is unique PONY CART from my town. The design is slightly different from the one you normally see in Pyin-Oo-Lwin (formerly known as May-Myo).

Horse Master and his cart on job.

There is a bag hanging next to the butt of the horse. That's called SHIT bag. The horse shit into this bag so that it aint make any bad to the streets.

A typical HORSE POWER. A horse travels couples of miles a day around the town. It mainly transports bulky products and commute people from one place to another.

HORSE MASTERS awaits the passengers.

Parking Space (or) Pony Cart Terminal in front of TAVOY MYO MA ZAYY (Town Market).

See? How much a horse can carry!!!

That's hi-tech thingy. Not tri-shaw. We called it TRI-CYCLE. You will see thousands of those in my town. Carry lots of shits and people from the town to those rural area.

A typical TRI-CYCLE, the national courier of my town. Lol.

Many products plus 2 passengers. They still can squeeze in like this. Beyond Limit...

Central TRI-CYCLE Terminal on the South Market Lane (ZAYY TAUNG LANN).

People from our town becomes TRI-CYCLE drivers because it earns decent amount everyday.

Shuttle to Maung Ma Gan beach. This small HILUX normally carries 20 people and some chunks of CARGO on the roof. Weird huh?

You still can find this kind of HINO TRUCK rolling on the roads of my town. This truck is even older than me. The MANUFACTURED DATE is 1975. So 8 years old than me. LOL.

People:

It's THINGYAN (New Year Festival) here and I have nothing much to do. Warring with my GMAT books and this is just to do during my break time. So that's my 3rd post for TAVOY trip. I named it THE TRANSPORTERS. Some invaluable shots of WEIRD transportation modes (which you cant see in other areas) from my town. Enjoy.

DancingDolphin I love this set. It's so interesting to see how things are done in other parts of the world. It strikes me today that there are so many differences when you have 4 distinct seasons to deal with. Can you imagine any of this transportation in 2 feet of snow! :-)
