People:
I have created this shot from the IRRAWADDY River towards the bank. The IRRAWADDY delta, to which Burmese people refer to as blood stream of the country, was recently hit by NARGIS cyclone. 6-digit number of people had lost their lives and millions are being homeless. Today (12.Jun.2008), we went there again to make donations.
This is called CELADON POTTERY of IRRAWADDY people. They all are handmade. People from those areas buy those pots and keep at their home as RESERVOIRS. When the rain comes, they save rain water in these pots and treat as drinking water during summer. Annually, this pottery house alone produces 200,000 pots. According the locals, there are hundreds of similar potteries in PHYAR PONE district.
Feel the IRRAWADDY POTTERY.
