BURMESE CART

2008.08.06
Along with this post, I would like to convey a message to you. "There still are people who earn their livings with such work".

I have used FOCAL BLACK and WHITE effect. Please Enlarge and Feel!!!

Dear Friends:

Thanks for your sincere comments for my previous post, A Garden On The Lake. This time, I want to slot in one more post for the category of People & Lives. Trust me! I have a habit of revulsion towards doing same things again and again. So, this post is to give you a different taste.

This is BURMESE CART. Needless to say, it originated from those British Colony days. People extensively used this kind of equipment to carry goods from one spot to another. Of course, you can rarely see this kind of human-intensive cart in these days of technology evolution. However, some provinces in Burma still utilize such carts. Rural people believe that these carts are far better than motorcars which need gasoline and flair of maintenance to operate.

smilingranbow interesting. i like the effect of the 2nd one.
this kind of cart are also commonly used in some rural areas of China.

Daryl This sort of cart does make sense where the goods are not being transported great distances, and the roads are flat. We might be seeing more of them again as oil becomes more expensive!

Some clever post processing in the second photo!

leocheung This are people we should respect.
I also have the habit of re-working on the same picture again and again.
I think the impact of the effect would be stronger on the first photo but I also like the second photo.

tridib Nice post....
tridib · 2008-08-06: 11:26
DancingDolphin It does make some sense as a way to transport certain things. It also looks like a hard way to earn a living, but then most heavy manual labor is.

I like the selective color.... like leocheung, I think it might work nicely on the first shot with the entire man being color, thus drawing attention to his person.
