the nerd that I was

I bought a book on a whim at the airport last Friday and re-discovered my nerdy past. I hadn't read a book for pleasure in like five years! Yes-- textbooks, dictionaries, peer-reviewed journals, newspaper articles-- but a good ol' pointless novel I hadn't picked up in ages...

Well, I've found myself again. My old nerdy nose-stuck-in-a-book self. I got a library card yesterday and drooled over the isles and isles of fiction (a section of the library I ignored for years). I was an hour and a half late to the gym because I kept thinking, just one more page, just one more page...

It's just that once I finished my Master's degree finally, I thought, "I'll NEVER pick up a book again! bua-haha!" Because I was so tired of the papers, the assignments, the reviews, the blah blah blah... but now I'm FREE and I can read whatever the heck I want! bua-haha! I don't understand why it took me so long to get here!
