Vast Silence

2007.12.13

“Dark spruce forest frowned on either side the frozen waterway. The trees had been stripped by a recent wind of their white covering of frost, and they seemed to lean towards each other, black and ominous, in the fading light. A vast silence reigned over the land.”

~ Jack London

rolpa It looks like winter is intensifying over there. That "vast slience" is becoming more evident, no doubt. Subtle grades of blue in this one are very attractive as is the thick snow on the branches.

mybigbackyard Looks like that silence at twilight when everything is scurrying to find shelter from the cold. Nice.

lexlevans i love it when snow sticks to trees! always makes for a beautiful shot - sadly the wind usually blows it away very quickly here!

MHJphotos Beautiful once again!!! You can really get a sense of how cold and still it is where these trees are growing. Fantastically captured!
