The World Heritage

2008.03.17

Face?

This is a kind of extra entry. I (yumisakurai) took these photos.
The path is a part of "Kumano-Kodo", ancient roads for pilgrimage registered as World Heritage.

It was very early spring, but there was so much green consisted of lots of fern and Japanese cypress Hinoki. That reminds me this area is covered with temperate evergreen forest. Because around Kumano is one of the most rainy site in Japan, the road is floored with many sizes of stones for pilgrims to avoid the mud. So, it is beautiful.

This is just a path, but very well maintained to keep the classic style, and there is no trash at all. I felt something very healthy there.Goo.......d!

Pandka Last year I went to Nachi-Katsuura and walked The Diamond Road - ancient pilgrims' road. It was also unforgettable.
