Insects that Come to Sunflowers

Flower-gnawer; White grub
The criminal that gnaw sunflowers at my home is white grubs (Anomala albopilosa). They stay on flowers from morning till night and continue to gnaw from petals to ovary. The flower in this pic fell down due to the hail in this mid day, after having gotten gnawed by white grubs. Pitiful......

Chinese mantid
I found a Chinese mantid on a sunflower for the first time in quite some time, of which size implied it would become imago following to the coming ecdysis. I was deeply moved with that it had been survived and so grown. I hope it will be a good imago by enough eating insects that gather around flowers.

White grub
I repeat several times, but a hateful enemy against sunflower is white grub (Anomala albopilosa ),.which gnaws the leaves and devours the flower. I wonder if we will harvest the seeds this season.
(Separately from above caption, a small insect at the upper left is German cockroach ( Blattella germanica). Why it was there?)

Honey bee
Honey bee (Apis mellifera) come to full-bloomed sunflowers. They are all hard workers covered with pollen.

astrobrojler Mr Nakata shots have always so shallow DOF, that's interesting. But effects sometimes are amazing, like #2 in this set. I'm impressed also by #6, fabulous capture!
