Roadtrip: Bandelier National Park

2008.07.10
Gorgeous canyon views on our way into the Bandelier National Park

Along the Frijoles Canyon trail. Some of the litte holes on the tuff cliffs were dwellings or homes of the pueblo indians.

Besides living in the cliffs, the pueblo indians also built rock structure dwellings on the canyon floor.

Along the beautiful and pine-scented trail to the Alcove House, otherwise known as the Ceremonial Cave.

Isn't the bark of those trees just amazing?

From the Alcove House, a large hollow at the top of cliff. It certainly took me a lot of efforts to reach the top at 140ft high. We had to climb at least four steep ladders! Going down was even worse ^_^

The kiva, an underground ceremonial room.

Going down the steep ladder.

On our way to the ski trails in the national park.

The ski trails were rather disappointing. The random piles of branches and trucks were probably the most interesting sights along the trails.

The campsite where we stayed for the night.

Inside the tent.

Our "campfire".

Dinner :)
