We reached Austin on Thursday around 1pm, and made our first stop at Chez Zee for lunch. Chez Zee is a charming little restaurant decorated with lots of whimsical artwork and ornaments.

I really liked Minghao's order of gorgonzola jalapeño pasta with pecan crusted chicken. The spicy jalapeño and creamy cheese mixture was surprisingly addictive and delicious.

The Texas Capitol building. It reminds me of the Capitol in DC, just that it is in a more girlish pink shade :D (The building is built using the Texan red granite.)

We also spent almost a whole afternoon at the informative and educational LBJ library-memorial. Haha, maybe it's the way history is presented, I had great admiration for LBJ after the exhibition.

The clock tower of the University of Texas, Austin. The campus is certainly a much grander version of all the other UT buildings in the Dallas-Fort Fort metroplex. I reckon the UT Austin area is a lot more happening than UChicago's Hyde Park too!
Bleah, I felt so old just looking at those freshmen going through their orientation.

We also took a short climb up the Mt Bonnell, a natural limestone formation that stands about 200 feet above the surrounding area

The wine we had for dinner :) It's from one of my favorite vineyards in Napa!

A rather random picture. It is one of the first shots I took with my DSLR :) It's the banana cake-bread I baked for Evelyn's farewell gathering on Wednesday before leaving for Austin.
Hee, the cake was actually rather well-received. Yeah!
