The Scary Doll

by Renee Wallace Wilson March. 02, 2020 190 views

So, here is the old doll from the back of the attic. Aside from the fact that her boobs are hanging off of her shoulder and her veil is a little brown from who knows what, the old girl can stand on her white porcelain legs still wrapped in some sort of cardboard underneath a dress with a plastic bag petticoat.

I found her a few years ago in Alexandria Bay at the Treasure Chest thrift store, a place where there are plenty of finds. I decided to keep her, thinking that one day she might fit into a dark and moody still life. I'll think about that for a minute or I might cast her off, too. Dust collector - plenty of dust!

I agree.  Dolls scared me as a kid. This one may see another thrift store before the week is out.
