Just a Few More Bears :)

by Gary Luker December. 17, 2019 480 views

This big bear was just in front of us on the trail as we hiked in Tweedsmuir Provincial Park, B.C. Canada. Our guide was an experienced "bear expert" and instructed us how to behave in the presence of this big beauty, which did nothing to stop my pounding heart ! The bear decided to give us the trail..whew :)

I have a series of photos of this bear. As I recall a bee was buzzing around her causing that pouty lip when they are agitated.

A Blue Heron waiting for its next meal.

Notice the pouty lip ? A warning that we were a little too close.

So this 'lil cub and I would like to wish everyone a very happy holiday season and look for more photo sharing in the New Year !!

These are great! I was petrified even hiking anywhere I saw signs warning of bears in BC - can't imagine the adrenaline of seeing one this close!

Wow, love these! Occasionally see a bear around my neighborhood, but they’re mostly trash bears and accustomed to seeing people. Still, like you, when it happens, my heart starts racing - they are beautiful animals.

They are beauties for sure, Marsha and at about 300 pounds and capable of running up to 30 miles per hour, they are also pretty intimidating ! But these bears were intent of feeding on the Salmon and really didn't seem to be concerned about us.

Thanks for all the bear shots, dear friend. I don't think I would have the courage to get so close to them as you have.

Well, a telephoto lens makes it looks a bit closer than reality, Benny grinning The bear on the trail was about 20 or so yards away and the one in the water as we drifted by was about 8 yards.  But still close enough for me !

Thanks Sherry,,I have lots more Bear pictures, but I thought these would be sufficient to get the point across of how magnificent these animals are.  So enough bears for now,,I don't want to be overbearing ! grimacing
