I recently visited Sri Lanka with my family, and deciding to include Sinharaja rainforest into our one week itinerary is one of the best decisions we’ve made.
Here are some of the reptiles I came across when I had my camera handy.
The SriLankan Green Pit Viper is hands down the most beautiful snake i’ve seen in person. I didn’t have my zoom lens on me, but I couldn’t resist getting a close shot either!
The Green Vine Snake, almost florescent green, is hard to spot amongst the leaves, but if you keep an eye out for it it’s a fairly common snake in Sri Lanka.
This Monitor Lizard was roaming right outside my room in Sigiriya. Google honestly makes these creatures sound way too ferocious because it couldn’t care less about me following it around with my camera.
This picture is of a pregnant female Hump-nosed Lizard that I was lucky enough to see in Sinharaja.
More from my Sri Lanka trip coming soon!
