Kecak Dance @ Uluwantu, Bali

Kecak is a form of Balinese dance and music drama. Also known as the Ramayana Monkey Chant, performed by a circle of 20 or more performers wearing checked cloth around their waists, percussively chanting “cak” and throwing up their arms, depicts a battle from the Ramayana. The monkey-like Vanara helped Prince Rama fight the evil King Ravana. Kecak has roots in sanghyang, a trance-inducing exorcism dance. (from wikipedia) :-)

This is like the most famous thingy that all tourists must watch at Uluwantu, Bali. The dancers kept chanting ‘cak’ ‘cak’ ‘cak’ ‘cak’ ‘cak’. This Kecak dance is deeply rooted in Hinduism. One can feel the spiritual atmosphere when watching the Kecak dance.
