PhotoBlog is a Place for you to Find an Audience for Your Stories

What Drives Us At Photoblog Is Not The Photos Alone

It’s the story behind the photos.

The why, where, how and who for every picture

"While hiking in Alberta I had a moment where I realized I am not waking up at 4 AM and doing this for FB likes or 500px ego boosts. Part of me really wanted to see the world and I got a lot of satisfaction telling my stories to others but there was a lack of a place to create a story.
I had started uploading my photos to facebook and 500px but there was no real engagement.
It was all about follow backs or like backs. In the case of facebook, engagement meant very little because my friends didn't have enough knowledge to give constructive criticism or most didn't care much what I was doing.
I simply didn't want my photos hidden behind facebook wall or forgotten in 500px.
Then, I started my own personal blog but soon realize that creating an audience for a blog is next to impossible." --Ram Ya
This is how the idea for PhotoBlog--a platform for collaborative blogging--came about

We help every blogger tell their story to the world

You won’t just see the otherworldly pictures and their equally breathtaking tales. You’ll see the day-to-day. The small, 3 word stories that feel nostalgic. The enthralling endeavors that inspire you to get out this weekend.

We believe in deeper engagement. Not just likes or follows.

While likes and follows are nice, we transform engagement from numbers alone into deeper conversations. Photoblog isn’t about getting an ego boost, but about finding photo stories and connecting with people who love what you do.

A place where your stories won’t be lost in a sea of other websites

One of the hardest things about starting a website is not the setup but finding an audience for your work. At PhotoBlog, you have thousands of photography enthusiasts who engage with your work.

Within the pages of Photoblog, you’ll find an interesting collection of stories that will shape the way you shoot and…

…challenge the way you see the world.

Go ahead and create your first Photoblog!

I took over PhotoBlog in 2015 and completely revamped the site from the 2006 version. My love for photography started when I went on a hiking trip to Alberta's Banff national park. I have more than 10 years of experience shooting nature and landscape photography. My passion is to help others become better photographers. I share photography knowledge and review camera gear on PhotoBlog's official blog to achieve that goal. In my spare time, I love to read, run, and go on hikes! Check out my personal blog at
