We are still in Christchurch, still loving life :) Polly's flatmate Rachel came home from holiday last night which was awesome to sit down and talk to her because she is originally from Oklahoma. She was telling us about the differences between dating in the U.S. and dating here. Apparently American men are much more outgoing and “keen” to pursue you? Who knew!
Both Annie and Polly had to work today so Rachel drove us to Sunmer which evidently has one of the best walks near Christchurch. To say it was spectacular is an understatement; altogether it was just over a 2 hour hike up a hill-like mountain along the coast. Because of all the earthquakes and aftershocks (yes I did experience AND survive through a mild aftershock on Saturday) there was some rock fall that had disrupted the path–luckily we ignored all the signage posted that the trail was closed due to safety… and I am so glad we did! It was such a beautiful walk (once we hopped the fence) and we could really only tell of one 10 ft section that was a little sketch. We ended our little adventure with lunch on the beach and I FINALLY got some sun!!
Later on we took Annie, Polly, & Rachel out for dinner at a nearby italian restaurant. I am so thankful for all the wonderful company we have here :) Had some great food, great drinks, and great conversation. Afterwards we went next door to enjoy a few more drinks at the bar and play pool with 3 guys from Brazil. The entire strip reminded me of Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis.
Suuuuper excited to pick up our campervan tomorrow morning and hit the open road :)
