Some of you may have heard of Chaarg before. We are a group of ladies who love to workout and be happy together. The group is held at select college campuses. Being part of the club has truly helped me to become who I've always wanted to be.
I grew up in a small town, where everyone knew everything about you--even the rumors that were far from true. I never had a really great group of friends and I found myself spending a lot of time by myself or working on the weekends. I desired to get out of the little town oh so badly, so when it became time for college, I did just that. Kent State University soon became my home. Fashion design was my major, something I had been to nervous to tell people was my passion when I was in high school. Quickly, I found friends who loved hiking, taking photos, and health as much as I did. Soon, Emma discovered a group on campus (CHAARG) and encouraged me to join.
Before joining the club, I was nervous I wouldn't fit in -- I never did in high school, so what would make this different, right?-- But I was pleasantly surprised by this amazing group of women. Everyone was so encouraging and non-judgmental of your capabilities or interests. I didn't feel like people would judge me for my past actions, but they accepted me for who I was in the present. I instantly went from the girl in the corner to the one who was dancing in front of the whole room.
Through the club, I learned to stop stressing about things I couldn't control. I truly let God take over and guide my life in the right direction. Shortly after, I began seeing results. I got a position on the exec team for CHAARG *eek very excited!!*, a job brand repping for Aurora Lace (use code AJV to get 20% off!!), and my overall happiness has sky rocketed.
Don't be afraid to try something new. Go out there and find your happiness.
