Storytelling Sequence - The Blot

by Adam Strong February. 21, 2019 613 views

Inspired by photographer Duane Michals, I had my students go through the process of creating a sequence of images that tell a story. In mine, I deal with my ongoing struggles with trying to put the problems of the world in a perspective I can live with. Mainly to not let the dark stuff fully envelop me, so I decided to have a man struggle with a dark blot that no matter how hard he tries he cannot avoid the inevitable, which is to let that dark fully consume him, or in this case, me.

Out damned spot! Out I say!—One, two. Why, then, ’tis time to do ’t. Hell is murky!—Fie, my lord, fie! A soldier, and afeard? What need we fear who knows it, when none can call our power to account?Great, Act 5 Scene 1....maybe none can call our power to account other than ourselves...love the sequence.
