The Acropolis of Athens: A Love Story

by Sky Hayward March. 23, 2020 137 views
I've been in love with the Parthenon since I was a little kid. I read and watched every single thing I could find about Ancient Greece. I think we were in Athens for three weeks before I could get closer than this. This is love and absolute adoration from afar. From the rock of Areopagos.

We finally did it. The sign is no joke, the hill is completely made of marble and polished to a shine. It sounds like a basketball court up there with all of the shoes squeaking. Every few minutes you hear the "whoa", of someone trying not to fall.

The choragic monument of Thrasyllus. It's roped off so you can't get close. I've read that there are ancient and Christian monuments and paintings inside the cave.

Thanks blush It's such an amazing place. We spent five hours up there just taking pictures and soaking it all in. Athens was definitely a bucket list trip for me.
