Wildflowers

Bluebells proliferate in our local woodland.

Cuckoo flower, also called lady's smock.

Dandelions are named from the French phrase "dent-de-lion" which means "lion's tooth". I like dandelions but in the UK they are not generally well thought of. They are often called by a name that I will parpaphrase as "wet-the-bed". This is because the roots can be used as a diuretic. When I was a child I was told never to pick them. Shame really, because they are quite picturesque especially when there are many of them together.

Really nice close ups. Nobody likes the dandelion, even though it is one of the most photogenic wild flowers out there, especially when they have matured and turned into "puff" balls.

Thanks Camellia. I do really like dandelions. Will probably capture some '"puff" ball' images soon.

Dandelions are also perfect for a very nice syrup smile
