We had not had a holiday for a long, long time so we decided to have a three day break in Lladudno - a lovely, Welsh seaside resort with a population of about 20,000 people. It lies on the Creuddyn peninsula in the north of the country.
At each end of Llandudno Bay there are large, spectacular limestone outcrops . This one to the north is named "The Great Orme".
This is the "Little Orme".
It is said that Lewis Carroll was inspired to write Alice in Wonderland while he was staying in the resort. As a result there are several statues in the town dedicated to book. This is a representation of the Mad Hatter.
This is a sad memorial dedicated to a tragic incident in the town in 1992.
The Welsh dragon is a heraldic symbol on the Welsh flag.
Of course there are many Welsh speakers who live in Wales, so most information signs are in both Welsh and English.
