Temple of Literature

When in Hanoi, I would reccommmend stopping by the Temple of Literature. It is a confucian temple that honors some of Vietnam's scholors. It is also the first university in Vietnam. The court yards are just so peaceful and stunningly beautiful. I could easily have spent most of my day there.

Once you walk through the large gate, you enter the first of two grassy court yards, each with their own lily ponds.

After walking through the beautiful grass filled courtyards you then come across one that has a giant koi pond in the middle with smaller buildings off to the side. It even has giant stone slabs with ancient carvings of old scholors on them.

The final part of the temple grounds is one last building. It contains memorials for famous scholors and has a few robes, books, and materials on display.

After leaving the temple, walk across the street. There is a large pond that you can walk around. There are little huts all the way around filled with cultural activities (great for kids).

Sadly this concludes my last full day in Vietnam. Make sure you've checked out my other posts from Vietnam: Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, and Day 4

Also, stay tuned for my lasst morning in Vietnam!
